Taft Ad: City Year Cleveland

Final Ad

Runner Up Designs

Graphic Design: City Year Cleveland Ad
A common task I'm assigned at Taft Law is creating various ads for the firm including sponsorship, announcement, and B2B. This ad specifically emphasizes Taft's sponsorship of City Year Cleveland. Visually, Taft employs clean simple design utilizing bold line and color. In the final ad, I mirror the back-slash of the Taft logo to emphasize the copy and lead the eye from the big slash and copy to the smaller slash and logo.

Graphic Design: Mock Mary Kay Ad Campaign
Mary Kay, the client, aims to expand attitudes toward its make-up to include a younger demographic as well as it's current breadwinner, professional women over the age of 40. Overall, their goal is to attract young women between the ages of 18 and 24, while maintaining its current identity as a high quality make-up brand. To achieve this goal, I paired vibrant, confident, REAL young women wearing natural make-up with the tagline Everyday, but not ordinary. These elements work together to convey the message that Mary Kay cosmetics provide everyday looks that will make any girl feel extraordinary. As a result, the Mary Kay brand becomes relatable to a younger demographic, while maintaining its current image of class, prestige, and quality.

*Through this assigned mock campaign, I was expected to combine original copy and visual elements to create an effective design that achieves the client's goals.

ALLDENT Toothpaste Ad

Graphic Design: Mock ALLDENT Toothpaste Ad
This piece, created for a Butler copywriting class, is aimed to sell ALLDENT toothpaste to men aged 45-60. This group is professional, with spare spending money, and cares about their appearance. Though my ad doesn't show the physical product, it showcases one of the main benefits for the particular age group: a confident smile. The chosen image portrays an average man, slightly younger than the target age group, suggesting that a confident smile has an age-lessening effect. This benefit is reinforced by the copy, provided by a white smile. In all, the elements of the ad work together to sell ALLDENT toothpaste to the target audience.

*Through this assigned mock campaign, I was expected to combine original copy and visual elements to create an effective design that achieves the client's goals.
